â€Å"One of the most important and interesting technological developments, particularly in terms of the law, has been the creation of the internet. As a result, cyber technology and cyberspace are major areas of interest for citizens and lawmakers all over the world† Governments face enormous strife when it comes to creating legislation to technological offences in the law as technology is developed at a fast rate and therefore preventative legislation to cyber crime is rarely made before these issues have happened. These issues that relate to the individual in cyberspace are cyber bullying, cyber stalking, online predators, terrorism, hacking, internet fraud, spam, intellectual property and copyright, to name a few. The Internet is global and therefore is difficult to monitor as it lacks national boundary. As an outcome to this it is difficult to control what is published from country to country as online communities connect despite being on the other side of the world but may have different regulations of what is accepted and this cant be controlled. Hacking is the unauthorized access to data held on a device that does not belong to the one looking at it. One may do it out of curiosity, monetary gain, alter data or terrorism. Hacking is an illegal act and can easily be charged under Australian Federal Law. One may also be charged with other state offences depending on the outcome of the hacking done.
